Family Portraits in the Garden

It has been a busy few months, both in my business life and my personal life.  God is good and we look forward to what He has in store for us in this 2012 year!

I have done a number of maternity sessions (will post more on them later).  And some commercial work (which I love to do and have done little of since becoming a mom 13 years ago!) I will write more about that in a later post as well.  Nonetheless, I have been a terrible blogger these last few months.  I do regularly post to my business Facebook page and those posts will end up as tweets on this blog.  Feel free to “like” my business page where you can see those posts when they are made.

I am still looking for Newborn Models!  We have many new props that I am eager to photograph with a precious little one.  Do you know someone who is expecting or just had a new baby?  Newborn portraits are best when the baby is 1-2 weeks old.  Please have them call me – 205-807-1223 or Send Mail to schedule a session.  Note: It is our policy to keep your contact information confidential.  Your information will never to given to or sold to another party.  Nor will you be hit with spam.

We will soon be publishing our first “Images By ‘Missy’” newsletter!  I am excited!  We will have it in pdf form.  Current clients will get a copy via email and if you would like a copy sent to you, please fill out this contact form.  Again, please note:It is our policy to keep your contact information confidential.  Your information will never to given to or sold to another party.  Nor will you be hit with spam.  That is why I would prefer for those who are interested in the newsletter fill out the following subscription form.

Now on to the good stuff!  Photographs!

I have photographed this family since the daughter was an infant!  I first took their portraits on Baby Dedication Sunday.  At that time, I took infants and family portraits of all the babies & their families who were being dedicated at our church.  They are a real joy to be around!  The dad used to be a reservist and when the mom was expecting the 2nd child (boy), he was called off to Kuwait.  God is good an protected him for the time he was serving in the Middle East.  In fact, the military sent him home for the birth of his son!  The children adore each other.  Such a credit to both their Mom and Dad!

Yes, they are this sweet!

A true blessing to their mom and dad.

Mom loves the ‘Hand Tinted’ look.

This is the image that Mom chose for her wall portrait.  Good choice!

Back in film days, I made ‘Hand Tinted’ of the portraits of the children.

For those of us who love the “Hand-Tinted” look, there are several papers that the                 ’Digital Hand Tints’ look good printed on.

What can I say, boys will be boys and dads come pretty close.  It is really fun to catch moments like these.

He perked up for a few more… LOL!

These last 3 will make a beautiful wall display.  Especially with the large wall portrait of the whole family!

We are currently booking for Spring Portrait Sessions.  Call ASAP to get the time slot that you prefer.  If you would like to be included in our next newsletter email, please fill out the form listed in the beginning of this post.  We are also looking for newborn models!  If you know someone who is expecting or just had a baby, have them call me~205-807-1223.

Have a wonderful & safe weekend!

Newborn Portraits!

newborn portrait photographer birmingham alabama

I am so excited about the techniques that I learned at conference this past week!  Particularly with newborns (oh, and maternity and children and seniors and commercial ~ more on commercial later.)  I had a blast with comrades and met new friends.  Became a member of the “Tater Pie” Club.  (Thank you members and others who stood behind me so I would not have to sing a solo…) Christy Lynn!  YOU’RE NEXT!  LOL!  Much fun.  A great group of people, most of who do not shy away from sharing their testimony with the Lord.  I think that is why I felt so comfortable with them and like I had known them all my life. Sunday morning I walked into our meeting room at the hotel.  We were all coming together for a worship service before our teacher/speaker, Jim Lersch presented his program.  (Jim was in there with us).  I ran into a photographer from Huntsville, who I met several years ago and had the privilege to become re-acquainted with last summer.  After exchanging pleasantries, I asked him if he would pray for me.  He said, “I will.  I’ll start praying for you right now…”  It was comforting to know that I could walk up to someone-anyone in this organization and ask for that.  And honestly, I think I could have requested prayer from anyone who was present.  The Bible says that we will know each other. :-)

Now, back to photography… I am so excited about taking newborn portraits!  These babies who modeled for us were 5 days old or less!  And so tiny!  I have some props for newborns and some more coming in.  And I am so eager to try them all out!  EXCITING!

If you are having a baby, had a baby in the last couple of days or know someone who has recently delivered or will be delivering soon, I would love the opportunity to photograph the baby as a model!  For more information call 205-807-1223 or email me at  info@imagesbymissy.com (you may have to cut and paste). I look forward to talking to you!

I almost forgot…I am starting a newsletter and if you are interested in receiving a copy, please email me to sign up for it at newsletter@imagesbymissy.com (you may have to cut and paste) and I will add you to my list of recipients.  The newsletter will contain photos, recipes (we like to eat around here…), photography tips, promotions and a few other tidbits like gardening, etc.  So to receive your copy, you must sign up!

To all the Dad’s, Happy Father’s Day!

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend everyone,

Missy
