I am so excited about the techniques that I learned at conference this past week! Particularly with newborns (oh, and maternity and children and seniors and commercial ~ more on commercial later.) I had a blast with comrades and met new friends. Became a member of the “Tater Pie” Club. (Thank you members and others who stood behind me so I would not have to sing a solo…) Christy Lynn! YOU’RE NEXT! LOL! Much fun. A great group of people, most of who do not shy away from sharing their testimony with the Lord. I think that is why I felt so comfortable with them and like I had known them all my life. Sunday morning I walked into our meeting room at the hotel. We were all coming together for a worship service before our teacher/speaker, Jim Lersch presented his program. (Jim was in there with us). I ran into a photographer from Huntsville, who I met several years ago and had the privilege to become re-acquainted with last summer. After exchanging pleasantries, I asked him if he would pray for me. He said, “I will. I’ll start praying for you right now…” It was comforting to know that I could walk up to someone-anyone in this organization and ask for that. And honestly, I think I could have requested prayer from anyone who was present. The Bible says that we will know each other. 
Now, back to photography… I am so excited about taking newborn portraits! These babies who modeled for us were 5 days old or less! And so tiny! I have some props for newborns and some more coming in. And I am so eager to try them all out! EXCITING!

Some of you may (or may not) know that I rarely do a ‘sneak peeks’ or previews online. (I hardly ever update my website or blog! 8O) I occasionally will post a video, but rarely. In editing I found these just ‘too cute!’ and adorable! I couldn’t stand it. In fact these two portraits are culls, cast offs, outtakes, whatever you want to call them. I still love them!

Touch-Down!
Yes, they have to pick a side and be ready with “Roll Tide Roll” or “War Eagle”! Even if you grew up somewhere else, went to college somewhere else, if you move here to live, you have to choose. And around here, often times one of those phrases will be the first thing a baby learns to say… besides the dog’s name.
This baby (and mother) were precious to work with. I enjoyed every minute and the time just flew! And she brought a smocked outfit for this baby to be photographed in! I love my job!
Professional Photographers of Mississippi and Alabama is having their mid-year conference this weekend and part of next week. And it is in Birmingham!!! I will be in classes & workshops for at least 3 days. Stephanie DeVeau of Inky-Dinky-Do Photography will be giving us a demonstration on newborn photography.
