Each session is customized for you!  We are Custom Photographers and will take as long as we need to take.  That time is set aside for your session!  We want your portrait session to be a wonderful experience for you, for your children, for your family.  

Convenience of scheduling.  We know that families are busy.  And scheduling can be difficult.  So we have made our session hours flexible in order to make it easier for you.

In studio or on location!  We have the convenience of conducting sessions in studio or on location.  Many clients enjoy meeting at a local park or garden for their sessions.  Others enjoy portraits taken in their own beautifully landscaped lawns and gardens.  We can even bring our studio to you! 

We are also a part of the Aldridge Gardens Photography Guild and have Session Privilages at the gardens.

Experience!  20 years experience providing photographic services in the Birmingham Metro Area.  Missy began her photography career by providing business portraits to clients and photographing weddings.  She was also a regular contributor to both, Alabama Magazine and Parenting Southern Style Magazine.  Parenting Southern Style also led to photographing Families, Children and Babies. 

Education! Missy studied accounting and business at Troy State and UAH.  After working at an auditing firm for 8 years, left that industry altogether and got an 8-5 sales job for the sole purpose of going back to school to study Photography.  After researching several programs in the Birmingham Metro area, she chose UAB Special Studies (Program no longer there.) because most of the instructors were actually professional photographers! And some of the best in the Birmingham Metro area!  After 3 years of night classes she accumulated enough quarter hours to apply for her Color Certification.  After a quarter of working with a mentor, her portfolio was presented to a board of jurors and earned the Color Certification in 1990.

Education Continues… We never stop learning our craft.  Missy continued to take classes at UAB.  Business became very busy and family began to grow.  Then came digital and more education.  Missy is privileged to have taken classes & workshops from International, Award Winning, Master Photographers.  Not just good photographers, but some of the best in our country, who know the art, craft and science behind photography. 

Equipment!  We all know it is not the camera, it is the photographer.  However, having the right tools for the job makes the job much more efficient.  Our equipment is professional grade equipment, from cameras, lenses, backgrounds, stands, lights, computer, software and many other items.  More importantly, we know how to use them to make beautiful photographs, beautiful portraits for our clients.

The other ‘We’… is Ed!  He is the better half of Missy and has a full time day job that he loves.  We joke that he “carries the heavy stuff”.  However, he is an accomplished, award winning photographer.  Learned photography by osmosis from his father and grandfather when he was young.  Getting a BA in Business at UAB, he was not interested in Art, Music, Literature, but signed up for photography courses that he loved.  Probably all that they offered at UAB.  He graduated with a Minor in Photojournalism.  He has been the 2nd shooter on every wedding we have photographed.  Ed helps out with our Senior Sessions and some of our larger Family Sessions.
